Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police helped 25 persons, who lost their money in various cybercrimes, get back their amount totalling Rs 34.27 lakh.
During the investigation, the cybercrime unit tracked down the transfer of funds from a bank account or wallet to the other and reverted it into the account of the victim. All the cases were compounded in the Mega Lok Adalat held recently and the amounts of the victims were transferred back into their bank accounts.
In some cases, when the victims immediately lodged complaints on national helpline number 155620, the amounts were kept on hold and the same was debited/freezed. Those falling victim to financial cyber frauds were urged to lodge complaints on the phone number 155620 immediately.
In November and December, the Rachakonda Cybercrime Police could help 50 persons get back an amount totalling Rs 68 lakh lost in various cybercrimes like customer care fraud, job fraud, honey traps, gift traps, phishing and OTP fraud.
