Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat on Monday said the police were maintaining surveillance on gangs organising rooster fights ahead of the Sankranthi festival.
“Already we caught two syndicates who were organising cockfighting at Adibatla and Medipally police station limits. Cases were booked against them,” he said.
People having any information on any illegal activities being carried out anywhere can inform the local police or Dial 100. “Sankranthi should be celebrated in a festive spirit. People should not get involved in vices and land in legal problems,” the Commissioner added.
The Rachakonda police have also said people should not use Chinese manja as its usage was banned. Cases would be booked against those selling the Chinese manja.
