Rachakonda cybercrime cases dip in 2025
Rachakonda reported 3,734 cybercrime cases in 2025, with investment and part-time job frauds topping the list. Police recovered Rs 40.1 crore, arrested 92 offenders, and conducted 955 awareness programmes reaching over one lakh people to prevent online offences.

Hyderabad: Cybercrime cases in Rachakonda have seen a dip; however continued to pose a major challenge, with 4,618 cases reported in 2024 as against 3,734 cases in 2025.
According to data released by the Cybercrime Wing, investment fraud emerged as the most common offence with 1,512 cases, followed by part-time job fraud with 1,215. Other categories included digital arrest scams with 237 cases, unauthorised transactions with 216, job fraud with 137 cases, loan fraud with 125, and fake customer care fraud with 122 cases and 96 APK file frauds.
Cases related to credit cards, OLX, gift, matrimonial and other online frauds also formed a sizable chunk. Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu said nearly Rs 40.1 crore of money lost by victims of cybercrime was refunded so far.
On the enforcement front, police executed 41 PT warrants, arrested or served notices to 92 cyber fraudsters and intensified follow-up actions across States.
To prevent cyber offences, the department conducted 955 cybercrime awareness programmes, reaching over one lakh people, focusing on safety.
