Hyderabad: The Cybercrime increased by a whopping 130 per cent in Rachakonda and the police attribute it to the worldwide trend.
A total of 1360 cases were reported in 2021, as compared to 610 the previous year. “Cyber criminals are exploring new modus operandi every to dupe the people of their hard earned money. It is the future crime, police are also gearing up to tackle this new challenges by improving their cyber crime investigation skills at all levels,” said Rachakonda CP Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat.
ACP (cyber crimes) S Harinath, said the police teams are tracking down the offenders and nabbing them from different parts of the country. “Wherever possible we are freezing the bank accounts used by the fraudsters and securing the money of the victims. On several instances we had successfully helped the victims get back their money,” he said.
The official asked the people to be more cautious while dealing with online transactions, not to entertain unsolicited calls and don’t get carried false assurance of huge profits on investments. He also appealed to the parents to keep supervision on their children and monitor their online activity.
