Rachakonda She Teams nab 127 for harassment in public spaces

In a two-week crackdown, Rachakonda She Teams apprehended 127 individuals, including 47 minors, for harassing women in public areas across Hyderabad. The offenders were counselled in court, and several criminal and petty cases were registered.

Hyderabad: In the last fortnight, the Rachakonda She Teams nabbed 127 persons, including 47 minors, for harassing women and girls in public places such as bus stands, railway and metro stations, schools, colleges and markets.

All the offenders were caught during a special drive conducted between October 16 and 31.

The offenders were produced in court and counselled in the presence of their families by the Women Safety Wing.

During the same period, the teams handled 194 complaints, including 40 received over phone, 74 through social media and 80 in person. Among these, seven criminal cases were registered, 53 petty cases were booked and 73 persons were counseled.

She Teams also conducted decoy operations in metro trains and caught seven men entering the women’s compartments, with fines imposed by metro authorities.
