Hyderabad has seen a rise in harassment cases against women, with over 4,000 offenders caught by She Teams in 2025. Authorities are taking strict action, sharing offender details with employers, and increasing surveillance in public areas to ensure women’s safety.

In a two-week crackdown, Rachakonda She Teams apprehended 127 individuals, including 47 minors, for harassing women in public areas across Hyderabad. The offenders were counselled in court, and several criminal and petty cases were registered.

In a significant women’s safety initiative, Rachakonda She Teams apprehended 141 individuals, including 42 minors, for harassing women across metro stations, bus stops, workplaces, and colleges between June 1 and 15.

Praveen Kumar, who was the Shaligouraram SI, was placed under Vacancy Reserve (VR), after the woman, following his harassment, approached the Director-General of Police and the Superintendent of Police, Nalgonda.

The She teams caught the persons after conducting decoy operations at public spaces including railway stations, bus stops and markets in Rachakonda

In addition, four persons were also caught for women harassment during She Teams decoy operations and one child marriage too was averted
