Rachakonda SHE Teams nab 310 for harassing women in just 15 days
In just 15 days, Rachakonda SHE Teams caught 310 people, including 129 minors, for harassing women in public places. They handled 339 complaints and took strong action through counseling, preventive cases, and criminal charges. Metro violators were also fined
Hyderabad: In a fortnight, the Rachakonda She Team nabbed 310 persons, including 129 minors, for harassing women and girls in public places, including bus stands, railway and metro stations, schools, colleges, and markets.
The offenders were produced in court and counseled in the presence of their families by the Women’s Safety Wing.
During the same period, the teams handled 339 complaints, including 64 via phone, 117 through social media, and 158 in person. Among these, 7 criminal cases were registered, 98 preventive cases filed, and 210 persons were counseled.
She Teams also conducted decoy operations in metro trains, and caught seven men entering women’s compartments and ensured fines through metro authorities.
