Rachakonda SOT busts illegal ice-cream unit in Ramanthapur
Rachakonda police raided an illegal ice-cream unit in Ramanthapur and arrested the owner for using harmful substances in production. Adulterated products and materials worth Rs 8 lakh were seized.

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Special Operations Team raided an ice-cream manufacturing unit and arrested an individual on charges of adulteration at Sharada Nagar in Ramanthapur on Thursday.
Police said Devilal Jatt, a resident of Ramanthapur, was illegally running the ice-cream manufacturing unit in a residential area. He had been adulterating ice-creams of various flavours using harmful substances, risking the lives of the public, particularly children.
The police are investigating whether the owner has a valid business licence. Adulterated ice-cream, artificial colours and other material worth Rs 8 lakh were seized.
Fire guts footwear shop in Jillelaguda
A major fire broke out at a footwear shop at Jillelaguda in Meerpet on Thursday evening. No casualties were reported.
Officials suspect a short circuit might have caused the fire. Locals, who noticed the blaze at the footwear store, located on the ground floor of a multistoried building, alerted the fire department and police, who rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
The estimated property loss is around Rs 25 lakh. The Meerpet police are investigating.
Khammam resident collapses in Ibrahimpatnam
A young man died, reportedly of cardiac arrest, while drinking juice at a fruit juice stall in Ibrahimpatnam on Wednesday night.
Eklavya (30), a private employee from Pallepadu in Khammam, was drinking juice at a fruit juice stall when he suddenly complained of chest pain and collapsed on the road around 10 pm.
Being a busy commercial place, those passing by who noticed him immediately rushed to his rescue and tried to revive him by administering CPR.
“As there was no response, he was further shifted to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead,” police said, adding that doctors suspected he died of cardiac arrest.
The family has raised no suspicion regarding his death. The Ibrahimpatnam police are investigating.
