Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Special Operations Team (SOT) along with local police nabbed one person on charges of drug peddling in Adibatla on Friday.
Officials seized 1.5 kg marijuana and 2 mobile phones, altogether worth Rs 51,000.
The arrested person is Romi Bharath Kalyani alias Romi (40) from Goa and currently residing in Maharashtra. The absconding drug peddler is Tobi from Kerala.
Police said Romi who studied graduation abroad, got addicted to psychotropic drug substances which eventually led him to peddling.
Upon returning to India, Romi engaged in real estate business and simultaneously involved in drug peddling. He came in contact with Tobi, a drug peddler from whom he procured marijuana and sold it to consumers on higher rates.
Based on a tip-off, Romi was nabbed. Efforts are on to nab Tobi.
