Ragpicker dies after hit-and-run accident at Afzalgunj; driver absconding

A ragpicker who was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Salar Jung Bridge in Afzalgunj on May 23 died while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital. Police have registered a case and are trying to identify and arrest the driver.

Hyderabad: A ragpicker died in a hit-and-run accident at Afzalgunj in the city.

The victim, K Sundar, was reportedly crossing the road at Salar Jung Bridge when an unknown car hit him, and the driver, along with the vehicle, escaped on May 23. Sundar was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for treatment, where the man died while undergoing treatment on Saturday, said Afzalgunj police.


The Afzalgunj police registered a case against the car driver and made efforts to arrest him.
