The fire broke out at the first floor of a three storied building located at Afzalgunj and soon spread to the upper two floors of the building. Two families were trapped in the building and came into the balcony as the fire was rapidly spreading.

The arrested are Manoj Madhi (19) and Suresh Kabasi (21), both residents of Malkangiri in Odisha.
