Hyderabad: Even as the Congress party, particularly MP Rahul Gandhi, continues to attack the Adani Group at the national level, the Congress government in Telangana is extending a red carpet for its investments in the State.
Addressing the inaugural session of the Telangana Rising Global Summit on Monday, Adani Ports and SEZ Limited Managing Director Karan Adani said the Group had invested nearly Rs 10,000 crore in Telangana over the last three years. These investments, he said, were directed towards infrastructure and manufacturing facilities, contributing to employment for more than 7,000 people. He added that the Group was keen on expanding its presence further in the State.
Though Karan Adani’s address did not figure in the official minute-to-minute schedule of the opening plenary, he arrived at the venue and delivered his speech. Over recent years, the Adani Group has forged a growing association with the Congress government in Telangana.
“In line with our earlier commitments, we have initiated investments in defence manufacturing, green data centre, renewable energy projects and cement manufacturing facilities across Telangana,” he said.
Outlining the latest projects, he stated that Adani was setting up a 48-megawatt cutting-edge AI green data centre with an outlay of Rs 2,500 crore. He also detailed investments of Rs. 4,000 crore in road infrastructure and over Rs 2,000 crore in cement manufacturing facilities at Tandur and Devapur.
