Rain disrupts coal production at SCCL mines
Heavy rains in Sathupalli disrupted coal production at SCCL’s JVR and Kishtaram opencast mines, halting excavation and output temporarily before operations resumed the next day.
Khammam: Rain disrupted coal production at SCCL’s opencast mines at Sathupalli in the district.
Sathupalli and surrounding areas received moderate rainfall on Monday night. A rainfall of 11 mm was recorded at JVR OC and 15 mm rainfall at Kishtaram OC.
As a result, production of 20,000 tonnes of coal and the excavation of 80,000 cubic meters of overburden at JVR OC were disrupted.
Similarly, the production of 6,000 tonnes of coal and the excavation of 35,000 cubic meters of overburden were disrupted at Kishtaram OC. The production resumed on Tuesday.
