Senior Telugu character artiste Raja Ravindra on Tuesday accepted Green India Challenge from actor Thulasi and planted saplings at his farm land near Gandipet. “It’s everybody’s duty to plant trees to safeguard environment as they absorb carbondioxide and release oxygen which is an elixir of life,” he said thanking Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar for initiating and taking forward Green India Challenge.

He further nominated actors Nikhil, Sunil and Navin Chandra to plant trees to make the environment green. The Green India Challenge initiated by the TRS MP has reached people at a quick pace. With almost every Telugu film celebrity taking up the challenge, general public too have enthusiastically participated in the drive doing their bit to protect the environment.

Celebrities in other States like Karanataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala have shown their enthusiasm by planting trees. Pan-India star Prabhas took the intiative to another level when he adopted 1,000 acres of reserve forest to develop it. The recent spell of rains last month have also come handy in boosting the spirits of nature lovers.
