Rajasthan conman’s plan backfires, gets caught in Hyderabad’s Filmnagar
Inamul Hussain, a resident of Rajasthan, contacts businessman Abdullah Ibrahim, a resident of Filmnagar, informing him that he has 8 kg of gold and plans to sell it for Rs 6 crore due to some personal issues
Hyderabad: A conman, who tried to cheat a gold trader, got tricked himself and was arrested by the Filmnagar police on Thursday.
Inamul Hussain (30), a resident of Rajasthan, contacted businessman Abdullah Ibrahim, a resident of Filmnagar, over phone, informing him that he has 8 kg of gold and plans to sell it for Rs 6 crore in bulk due to some personal issues.
As Inamul was making repeated calls, Abdullah sensed something fishy and contacted the cybercrime police, who asked him to avoid the calls for fear of being duped.
However, Inamul came to the city from Rajasthan and again contacted Abdullah using a different phone number. The suspect told Abdullah that he was in the city to deal with some other businessmen.
He said he would give two gold biscuits to him for Rs 30 lakh initially and asked him to place an order for more gold after selling those gold biscuits.
Abdullah planned to meet the man and find out the truth, and convinced Inamul to visit him his office. Inamul came to Abdullah’s office as planned on Thursday evening.
On confirming that the man was planning to cheat him, Abdullah, on the pretext of taking Inamul to a place for getting the gold biscuits tested, made him sit in the car and took him straight to the Filmnagar police station.
Inamul was shocked when the car entered the police station premises and was swiftly surrounded by policemen, who dragged him out and took him into custody.
“On interrogation, the suspect admitted to have cheated people in similar manner. A case has been registered against Inamul at Filmnagar and he was arrested,” said the police.
