Ram Charan Teja Akula, Shanvi Reddy win Telangana U-13 badminton singles titles

Ram Charan Teja Akula and Shanvi Reddy Nimma won the boys’ and girls’ singles titles at the 12th Telangana State Sub-Junior Badminton Championship in Serilingampally. Ram Charan won after his opponent retired, while Shanvi beat Saina Sharma

Hyderabad: Ram Charan Teja Akula and Shanvi Reddy Nimma won the boys’ and girls’ singles titles, respectively, in the 12th Telangana State Sub-Junior (Under-13) Badminton Championship at A Zone Elite Badminton Academy, Serilingampally, here on Sunday.

In the boys’ final, Ram Charan defeated Deepak Naidu 4-3, with the latter retiring after sustaining an injury.

Shanvi recorded a 15-7, 15-11 win over Saina Sharma to clinch the girls’ singles title.

Girls:
Singles: Shanvi Reddy Nimma (RR) bt Saina Sharma (MM) 15-7, 15-11.
3rd place: M. Sai Komerally (SR) bt Vedhitha Reddy Katukuri (Wgl) 10-15, 15-12, 15-13.

Doubles: M. Sai Komerally & Vedhitha Reddy bt G. Anvireddy & Saina Sharma (MM) 15-13, 16-14.
3rd place: Kaviya Vandakaru & Manvitha Penneru (Vkb).
