Hyderabad: J Ramakrishna of Hyderabad bagged the 7th Telangana State Senior Chess Championship title held at Yogahall in the LB Stadium on Wednesday. He scored eight points from nine rounds.
Top seed Bharath Kumar Reddy from Kodad, with eight points, settled for second place after draws in sixth and seventh rounds.
Adireddy Arjum (7.5) and Mohammed Bhashiq Imrose (7) stood at third and fourth places respectively in the tournament and secured berth in the State team. The top four players will represent Telangana State in the upcoming National Senior Chess Championship to be held at Kanpur on February 25.
Final Standings: 1 J Ramakrishna; 2 Bharath Kumar Reddy; 3 Adireddy Arjun; 4 Mohammed Bhashiq Imrose.
