Hyderabad: The L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) in collaboration with Ramoji Foundation has announced the launch of ‘The Ramoji Foundation Centre for Eye Infections’, a centre dedicated for treating patients with various eye infections, a press release said. The support provided by Chairman of Ramoji Group and Founder of Ramoji Foundation, Ramoji Rao, will enable LVPEI to enhance its activities in the area of eye care and benefit many more people.
Senior officials from LVPEI have expressed their gratitude to Ramoji Rao for his generous contribution to establish Ramoji Foundation Centre for Eye Infections.
“Our focus will be on developing advanced molecular techniques for early diagnosis and cost-effective, minimally invasive surgical treatment to treat ocular infections in patients. A comprehensive system for screening and treating corneal infections in the LVPEI’s rural eye care network centres will be established. We will also collaborate with international institutes for carrying out in-depth research in the lesser-known eye infections and capacity building of eye care professionals,” Dr Prashant Garg, Executive Chair, L V Prasad Eye Institute, in a press release said.
