Rana Daggubati appears before Telangana CID in online betting apps case
Actor Rana Daggubati and anchor Vishnu Priya appeared before the Telangana CID as part of the ongoing probe into online betting and gambling applications. The SIT is recording statements of celebrities, while the ED is conducting a parallel money laundering investigation.
Hyderabad: Actor Rana Daggubati and anchor Vishnu Priya appeared before the Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Saturday in connection with the ongoing investigation into the online betting and gambling applications case.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CID questioned them for over an hour in regard to the case. The SIT formed for the purpose of investigation into the betting app case is recording the statements of celebrities who promoted it.
The inquiry follows a series of coordinated raids by the Telangana Special Investigation Team and CID across six locations in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Punjab earlier.
A parallel investigation is being done by the Enforcement Directorate under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act into financial transactions and promotional campaigns allegedly linked to illegal betting networks.
