Mumbai: On the first day of Navratri, the makers of Mardaani 3 unveiled a new poster of the upcoming film, setting up an epic battle between good and evil.
Yash Raj Films on Monday shared the poster on Instagram. It shows a close-up of Rani Mukerji’s hand holding a black handgun, pointed downward. In the blurred background, a yellow police barricade with the text “DELHI POLICE” is visible.
The caption read: “On the auspicious Day 1 of Navratri, here’s to celebrating the victory of good over evil. #RaniMukerji returns as top cop Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3 to investigate the most challenging case of her career. #Mardaani3 in cinemas 27th February, 2026. @abhiraj88 #AdityaChopra.”
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, the film is slated to release on February 27, 2026.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, Mardaani is the biggest solo female-led franchise in Hindi cinema. Launched in 2014, it has earned acclaim for its taut storytelling and strong central character.
Mardaani 3 will see Rani reprise her role as fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy, who fights relentlessly for justice. Earlier, Rani described the thriller as “dark, deadly and brutal,” a remark that sparked wide curiosity among fans of the star and the franchise.
The first instalment, directed by Pradeep Sarkar, dealt with human trafficking, while Mardaani 2 (2019), directed by Gopi Puthran, centred on a psychopath rapist and murderer. The films are known for portraying chilling villains who are ultimately defeated by Shivani, symbolising the triumph of good over evil.
