Ratan Tata celebrates 84th birthday with a cupcake

Hyderabad: Ratan Tata might be a billionaire, but his humility and kindness are what make him special and the favourite of many people in the country. As the industrialist turned 84 on December 28, he celebrated the milestone birthday by blowing out a candle on a cupcake presented to him by his employees.

While celebrities usually throw grand parties and invite the who’s who from different industries, Ratan’s decision to keep his celebrations simple won the hearts of netizens. A video from the occasion went viral on social media platforms after Vaibhav Bhoir, a Business Development Manager at Tata Motor Finance, shared it on his LinkedIn profile.

In the 30-second video, we can see the Chairman of Tata Trusts blowing out the candle and recording it on his phone. He is then seen interacting with Shatanu Naidu, who works as the Deputy General Manager in his office, after which the latter feeds him some cake. “Simplicity. Nation’s pride and inspiration for all,” Vaibhav captioned the viral video that has over 12,10,666 views and 1,686 comments on the platform.

“No matter what age you are, what religion you belong to, what kind of business you are in…the moment Mr. Tata comes on the screen, there is only one thought – Respect from core of heart…” wrote a LinkedIn user named Vikas Singh. “Great man, great personality,” wrote another person.

Many other businessmen, politicians, and film personalities took to social media platforms to wish Ratan Tata on his special day.
