Medak: Toopran Revenue Divisional Officer has served notices to Eatala Jamuna Reddy, Eatala Nithin Reddy and several other farmers informing them that Revenue and Survey departments will be resuming the combined survey from November 16 to 18 in survey number 97 at Hakimpet village in Masaipet mandal of Medak.
Jamuna Reddy, wife of BJP MLA from Huzurabad Eatala Rajender, and their son Nithin were having lands in the survey number where Eatala’s family set up Jamuna Hatcheries. Following the instructions of the RDO, the Revenue Department officials pasted notices at Jamuna Hatcheries buildings besides handing over the notices to several other farmers from Hakimpet, who were having lands in the said survey number. In the wake of allegations of encroachment of lands by Eatala’s family, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had ordered a survey in June. However, they had stopped the survey as the Jamuna Hatcheries filed a writ petition in the High Court citing Covid-19.
Speaking to mediapersons on Monday, Medak Collector S Harish said the officials had found some encroachments in government lands and ceiling lands by Jamuna Hatcheries during a preliminary survey in June. However, the survey had to be stopped as the Jamuna Hatcheries filed a writ plea in the High Court. He further said the court had asked them to stop the survey because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Stating that the court asked them to postpone the survey for three months, the Collector said they had decided to carry out the survey as the district had recorded zero Covid cases.
The Collector clarified that they were going to continue the earlier survey. He said there would be clarity on the issue by November 18.
