Ready to go to jail 100 times for Hyderabad’s brand image, says KTR

Hyderabad: Hitting out at the Congress government for misusing investigation agencies to target opposition leaders through false cases, BRS working president KT Rama Rao declared that he was willing to go to jail not once, but 100 times for his efforts in improving Hyderabad’s brand image.
He called the Formula-E race case a diversionary tactic deployed by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy ahead of local body elections as the latter was unable to deliver electoral promises.
“This is the third time I have been summoned, and I’m ready to come even for the 30th time. We have full faith in the judiciary and the law of the land,” he told the media after the eight hour grilling session on Monday.
Addressing the party cadre at Telangana Bhavan after returning from the ACB office, Rama Rao stated that the Congress government and Revanth Reddy were trying to draw sadistic pleasure by targeting BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, former Minister T Harish Rao and himself under the guise of investigations. However, he vowed not to back down, even if it meant going to jail again.
“I was imprisoned during the Telangana Statehood movement and won’t hesitate to go again for making Hyderabad a global brand through Formula-E,” he said, reiterating that it was a useless case and that Revanth Reddy was a hopeless Chief Minister.
Stating that he would not back down from questioning the government, no matter what, the BRS working president said Revanth Reddy was running a government of broken promises, from unfulfilled six guarantees to the delay in finalising BC reservations ahead of local body elections.
“The Congress appears to be planning to hold local body elections without finalising BC reservations. If such a thing happens, it would be a grave injustice to the BC community,” he said, adding that the Congress was distributing Rythu Bharosa assistance only when elections were approaching.
Rama Rao charged the government with playing diversionary politics by targeting BRS leaders, but warned that they could not be silenced from raising the failures of the government. “Revanth may arrest one or two leaders, but he cannot silence lakhs of BRS workers who are ready to fight,” he said.
Challenging the Chief Minister, Rama Rao dared him to undergo a polygraph test on the Cash-for-Vote scam, stating that he himself was ready for one in the Formula-E case.
Refuting any wrongdoing, he stated that the funds were released transparently and still remain in the bank account of the organisers. “Revanth Reddy, who served time in the Cash-for-Vote case, is seeking sadistic revenge by imprisoning me. But I have done nothing I need to be ashamed of. If I went to jail for Telangana, I won’t hesitate to go again for the sake of Hyderabad,” he said.
He urged the party cadre to continue exposing the hollowness and failures the Congress government across the State. The BRS also plans to mark June 21, marking the sixth anniversary of the Kaleshwaram project, with Statewide awareness campaigns, reinforcing its commitment to developmental politics and exposing the Congress government’s deceitful governance.
