Hyderabad: A 52-year-old realtor opened fire with his licensed revolver on his wife and son after an argument over family issues at his house in Kalapather on Monday evening. The woman and children escaped without any injuries, with the bullets hitting the wall of the house, police said.
The man, Syed Habeeb Hashmi, lived along with his family at Bilalnagar under the Kalapather police station limits. “Around 5 pm, there was an argument between the family members over some issue, during which he fired three rounds with his .22 revolver on them. No one was injured as the two of the bullets hit the roof while one hit the wall,” K Sudarshan, SHO (Kalapather) said.
The Kalapather police reached the spot and took Hashmi into custody apart from seizing the weapon. A case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code and the Indian Arms Act was registered against him. It is learnt that for the last few weeks, there were arguments between Hashmi and his family. On Monday also, there were some arguments between them over the issue following which in a fit of rage the man took out the weapon and fired three rounds.
