Record 70,000 chilli bags arrive at Enumamula market yard
For the past couple of days, the farmers have been arriving at the Enumamula agriculture with loads of red chillis from all over the erstwhile districts of Warangal, Karimnagar and Khammam
Warangal Urban: The Enumamula agriculture market yard here on Thursday witnessed the arrival of nearly 70,000 bags of red dry chillies which is said to be the season’s highest arrival.
While the Single Patti variety chilli was priced between Rs 19,000 and Rs 21,500, it was followed by the Tomato variety which was sold between Rs 19,000 and Rs 21,000 while Deepika was sold between Rs 15000 and Rs 16,500, officials said.
The other varieties including Teja, Wonder Hot (WH), US 341, DD, 1048, 334, Teja Fatki and 341 Fatki varieties have been sold between Rs 6,500 and Rs 15,600. In the last year, the farmers got Rs 16,000 to Rs 16,500 per quintal at the Enumamula agriculture market for their produce.
For the past couple of days, the farmers have been arriving at the Enumamula agriculture with loads of red chillis from all over the erstwhile districts of Warangal, Karimnagar and Khammam.
‘Teja’ variety has been in more demand than others. The farmers of the erstwhile district are happy with the red chilli prices in the market. “Though the arrivals started in December for this season, the arrival of the red chilli on Thursday and Wednesday are the highest. There is a steady increase in the arrivals in the last couple of days,” said an official.
