The sophisticated wing has 50-beds including five ICU beds along with four wards with a break-up of 12 beds for male, 10 for women, 11 beds for paediatric and 12 for leukaemia patients. It is also equipped with oxygen, ventilator and lift for emergency services.

The first phase of the cancer block spread over 18,000 sft was inaugurated in 2018. In fact, the MEIL had taken-up the task of complete maintenance of the second floor and later decided to further develop the ground floor and first floor of the building with modern amenities. The novel initiative to completely redevelop the cancer block has been led by MEIL Chairman, P P Reddy and its MD, P V Krishna Reddy.
The MEIL has also equipped the building with a bed lift that can carry 20 patients at a time, CCTV cameras, LED lights, electrical room and centralised air-conditioning. The ICU unit has oxygen and vacuum pressure facility apart from access for every two beds in the wards.
Rooms for doctors, faculty, processing and staff are built making it a full-fledged unit to deal with any emergencies related to cancer patients. While the cellar will have a day-care facility, the first floor will have high-end outpatient facility along with seminar rooms and other much needed facilities for the faculty at the medical oncology wing of the hospital.
