Hyderabad: It was a start-to-finish affair for Preethi Kongari of Medak district on Day Two of the Junior Regatta championship here on Saturday.

Preethi from Government College Marredpally, who graduated from the Sub Juniors, is all set to win the State Junior Championships on debut leaving the more experienced Jaikiran Bolli and Majji Lalitha behind. Jaikiran was trailing the fleet in last position but the shifty winds and climbed back to fourth leaving him overall in second position in the qualifiers in Group A .


There was only one race on the day as the wind dropped to zero knots.

Points position: Group A: 1. Preethi Kongari (4 pts), 2. Jaikiran Bolli (9 pts), 3. Teja Kethavath (14 pts).
