Remove review of Telangana projects from GRMB agenda: Ex-MP Vinod Kumar
Former MP B Vinod Kumar has demanded that the proposal to review and cancel permissions for seven Telangana irrigation projects be dropped from the upcoming GRMB meeting agenda. He urged MPs to take up the matter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Karimnagar: Former MP B Vinod Kumar demanded immediate removal of the proposal to review and cancel permissions for seven Telangana irrigation projects from the agenda of the 18th Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) meeting scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on August 18.
He urged all Telangana MPs to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and seek withdrawal of the proposal and raise the issue in Parliament.
Addressing a press conference in Karimnagar, Vinod Kumar reminded that the Telangana movement was fought for water, funds and jobs. He alleged that the projects constructed during the previous BRS government had obtained all statutory clearances. He questioned the inclusion of the proposals in the GRMB agenda at the behest of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
He demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy clarify their stand. He also questioned the silence of BJP and Congress MPs from Telangana.
Warning that cancellation of the project permissions could create a serious situation in Telangana, he threatened a major BRS agitation if the issue was not removed from the GRMB agenda by August 18.
