Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s announcement in the State Assembly about the inauguration of the majestically renovated Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Yadadri by November last week or December first week has created a buzz atop the hill shrine, with Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority (YTDA) staff working with renewed vigour to complete the final touches to the remaining works under progress.
Most of the major temple works including provision of amenities like queue lines, prasadam complex, lighting, beautification of the premises, among other, have already been completed. At present, YTDA officials have taken up the final works that include installation of side railings to escalators that will carry pilgrims from the foothills to the shrine, gold plating of Kalashas on the gopurams and copper plating of Dwajasthambham (flagstaff).
Sharing a video clip that gives a bird’s eye view of the entire temple complex, MAUD Minister K T Rama Rao on Sunday tweeted: “Soon to be unveiled magnificient Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, which has been beautifully renovated. Kudos to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao garu for his vision to make it a tourist destination for all Indians.” The video clip takes one through the outer prakaram, gopurams, the ghat road leading to the temple, main door entry and the beautiful sculptures on the pillars and side walls.
The YTDA officials, undeterred by the recent heavy rains, are executing the remaining works and are confident that the temple would be fully ready as per schedule. “All things will be in place atop the hill for inauguration,” a senior official from YTDA told Telangana Today.
Keeping pace with the works atop the hill, officials are also expediting works along the approach to the shrine. Construction of cottages in an area spread over 13 acres has already been completed and they will be ready for occupation by devotees at the time of the temple inauguration, the official said. Similarly, Kalyana Mandapam, Kalyana Katta, bathing facilities, Pushkarini (bathing well), Vratha mandapam and other facilities are also ready. So far, about Rs 950 crore have been spent on Yadadri development. Of these, Rs.250 to Rs.280 crore was spent on renovation of the main temple atop the hill and the remaining amount on land acquisition, road works and setting up various facilities, he said.
The Chief Minister has already invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the inauguration of the renovated temple, and he has promised to attend the ceremony. The muhurat for the inaugural ceremony will be finalised by seer Sri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy. A Maha Sudharshana Yagam will be performed with about 1,000 to 1,500 Ruthviks to mark the inauguration of the renovated temple complex. The renovation was taken up four years ago and the temple area has been expanded to 4.5 acres from just 2,500 square yards on the hillock.
