Hyderabad: Encroachment attempts on open wells have come under scrutiny after residents of Venrock Enclave in Alwal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, raised a complaint at Prajavani held by Hydraa on Monday, seeking protection for the 200-year-old Chintabai open well and preservation of its historical traces.
Hydraa commissioner A V Ranganath, in an official release, said residents reported that some individuals attempted to encroach on the historical open well, which they said was once a drinking water source. At Hydraa’s Prajavani, a total of 32 complaints were received seeking protection of parks and restoration of open spaces.
In Prajavani held at the Hyderabad collectorate, a total of 317 grievances were received, including 221 from the Housing Department (10 for 2BHK, 211 for Indiramma houses), 73 from the Revenue Department, and 23 from other departments.
In Prajavani held in the GHMC Head Office, a total of 45 petitions were received. Additional Commissioners Satyanarayana and Alivelu Mangathayaru received them.
