Retired Army officer shoots self with licensed pistol in Hyderabad

A retired Army officer allegedly died by suicide after shooting himself with a licensed pistol at his residence in Hyderabad's Hussaini Alam area on Friday.

Hyderabad: A retired Army officer, Mohammed Aleemuddin, allegedly died by suicide by shooting himself with a licenced pistol at his residence in Hussaini Alam on Friday.

According to preliminary information, family members and neighbours alerted police after hearing a gunshot from the house. When they checked, Aleemuddin was found dead in a pool of blood.

The Hussaini Alam police reached the spot and took up the investigation.

The body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Preliminary findings suggest that personal reasons may have led to the incident. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
