Jangaon: A retired government teacher, waiting for his retirement benefits, has died by suicide at Purnima Colony in the industrial area at Jangaon district head quarters.
The deceased, Pagidipalli Mallaiah, aged around 62 years, hanged himself from the ventilator grill at his house on Tuesday. Before ending his life he purportedly left a 20-page suicide note that was addressed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and a High Court judge besides his family members.
The retired teacher presented a detailed account of the dues he was supposed to receive from the government as well as from his relatives to whom he lent money over the past few years. He said he was yet to receive Rs 10.77 lakh general provident fund (GPF) dues from the government.
Mallaiah held the Congress government-for delaying the release of his retirement benefits (GPF)- and a High Court judge besides his brother-in-law and other relatives, who had failed to repay huge amounts of money they owed to him- as responsible for his death.
He retired from his service on August 31, 2024 after which he married off his daughter by taking loans from relatives and friends. Based on the complaint of the family members the police registered a case and are conducting an investigation into the death of
the retired teacher.
