Hyderabad: Slamming TPCC president A Revanth Reddy for using foul language, TRS MLA A Jeevan Reddy on Thursday said the Congress leader does not have the stature to comment on Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
There are many PCC presidents in the country but no one uses such abusive language as was being done by Revanth Reddy, he said, adding that he was behaving like an event manager and not as TPCC president.
“Basically, senior leaders in the Congress do not consider Revanth Reddy as their State Chief. Unable to digest this, he has begun getting aggressive,” Jeevan Reddy said.
The legislator said he has written a letter to AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and senior leader Rahul Gandhi about the derogatory remarks made by TPCC president against the Chief Minister.
He also pointed out that the Shiv Sena government supported by Congress in Maharashtra had arrested Union Minister Narayana Rane for his remarks against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. “If the Congress leadership does not intervene and direct Revanth Reddy to mind his language, then it will have to face the consequences,” Jeevan Reddy said in the letter.
On the Congress demand to rename Pragathi Bhavan as Bahujan Bhavan, the TRS MLA said the TPCC president should bear in mind that former Chief Minister YS Rajashekhar Reddy had also functioned from the same premises. “Who stopped the Congress from declaring it Bahujan Bhavan during their rule”? he questioned, adding that if opposition parties were particular about renaming the Chief Minister’s office, then the exercise should begin with Congress and BJP ruled States.
Stating that Revanth Reddy was welcome to produce evidence against Ministers or TRS MLAs if they were involved in corruption or irregularities, he said: “Accusing the Ministers or leaders without any proof will not be tolerated and the TRS leaders will give a befitting reply,” Jeevan Reddy said.
