Hyderabad: After having promised the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) employees that their services would be regularised during the Assembly elections, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has taken a U-turn, stating that it was a Central government scheme and there was no scope for regularising the services of the outsourced employees.
“If services are regularised in violation of rules, there would be legal issues. There is no scope for regularisation of services and if the employees continue to insist, things will get further complicated,” he said.
His observations came during a meeting in which he released the Telangana Gazetted Officers Association 2025 diary and calendar at Secretariat here on Friday.
He admitted that due to financial constraints and low revenue, a few issues were not getting addressed. Though the government was willing to regularise the services of outsourced and contract employees, it cannot be done, he told the officers.
The Chief Minister said the State government’s monthly revenue was Rs 18,500 crore and this was insufficient to meet the government’s requirements. “If all things have to function smoothly and efficiently, monthly Rs 30,000 crore is required,” Revanth Reddy said.
In the monthly revenue generated, about Rs. 6,500 crore was being utilized towards employees salaries and other expenses. Another Rs 6,500 crore was being used towards repayment of loans and with the balance Rs.5,500 crore, welfare programmes were being implemented, he explained.
Employees play a crucial role in implementation of welfare and development programmes. The State government would consider all the suggestions from employees for spending the income transparently, he said, adding that the monthly revenue of the government had to be increased by another Rs 4,000 crore.
The Chief Minister assured that the State government would address all the issues of the employees.
“You don’t have to stage protests. All the issues can be addressed through discussions. A few people with political motives are instigating employees to stage protests and if you fall into their trap, ultimately you have to suffer,” Revanth Reddy said to the officers.
