Revanth Reddy, Congress leaders condemn rejection of Meenakshi Natarajan’s nomination
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and senior Congress leaders have condemned the rejection of AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination. They alleged political interference in the process and described the development as a setback to democratic values and institutions
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and several other Congress elected representatives on Tuesday condemned the rejection of AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination.
“I condemn the conspiracy by the BJP in Madhya Pradesh that resulted in the rejection of Ms Meenakshi Natarajan Ji’s Rajya Sabha nomination. After Vote Chori and SIR, they are now resorting to Seat Chori,” Revanth Reddy said in a post on X.
The Chief Minister alleged that the development amounted to an assault on democracy.
“People’s voices are being stifled. This is a dark day for Indian democracy and needs to be condemned by all citizens. We will all fight for justice,” he said.
Similarly, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud said the rejection of Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination raised serious questions about the state of democratic institutions.
“Democracy cannot survive when political manipulation overrides the will of the people. This disturbing development must be opposed by everyone who believes in fairness, justice and constitutional values,” he said in a post on X.
