Hyderabad: Former Minister and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao launched a blistering attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing him of turning Telangana’s administration into a cash collection enterprise for the Congress. He charged that Revanth Reddy had failed as Chief Minister, Education Minister, Home Minister, and Municipal Minister, but passed with distinction as Collections Minister.

Addressing government job aspirants after launching the Congress Unemployment Dues Card at Jala Vihar on Friday, Harish Rao accused the Chief Minister of reducing governance to personal gain. He said Revanth Reddy had betrayed Telangana’s youth without filling the promised two lakh jobs and also damaged institutions built over a decade under the BRS regime.

Taking a dig at the Congress government, he remarked that Telangana was the only State with an Education Minister with no education and a Home Minister facing the highest number of criminal cases. “This government runs on threats, not governance,” he said, pointing out how even IAS officers were opting for voluntary retirement to escape a vindictive regime.

The senior BRS legislator pointed out that it was the BRS government that brought investments through TS-iPASS and created jobs. He said the previous government also filled 1.64 lakh government jobs, including 15,400 SI and constable posts, 9,000 Gurukul jobs, 8,000 Group-IV posts, 7,000 in the Health department, and 6,000 teacher recruitments. “BRS issued notifications, conducted exams, and completed selections. Revanth Reddy had only handed over appointment letters and took credit,” he charged.

Harish Rao demanded that the Congress government immediately issue notifications to fill the promised two lakh vacancies. “They didn’t issue job notifications, but released liquor notifications. Their job calendar is a jobless calendar,” he said, mocking the government’s promises.

Terming the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme a dead-on-arrival project, he said not a single unemployed youth had benefitted from the much-hyped programme. “Before elections, Revanth begged for votes, promising jobs and unemployment benefits. After coming to power, he abandoned those very youth. Now they are questioning him through Unemployment Dues Cards,” he declared.

Challenging the Chief Minister to face the public without police protection, Harish Rao dared him to visit Ashok Nagar junction or Chikkadpally Public Library. He said the unemployed youth will strip off his clothes and thrash him for betraying them.

Calling upon the youth to teach the Congress a lesson in the Jubilee Hills bypoll, Harish Rao urged them to defeat the party that deceived them with false promises of employment and ensure that Rahul Gandhi realises how they were betrayed in Telangana. He vowed that BRS would fight for the unemployed both in the Assembly and on the streets by launching Statewide protests.
