Revanth Reddy government indulging in political vendetta, says Dileep Konatham
He said the police registered a case of organised crime against him, which was more apt for the Revanth Reddy government for its repeated attempts to implicate him in fabricated cases
Hyderabad: Former Telangana Digital Media Director and social media activist Dileep Konatham on Tuesday said the Revanth Reddy government was orchestrating a politically motivated campaign against him.
He said the police registered a case of organised crime against him, which was more apt for the Revanth Reddy government for its repeated attempts to implicate him in fabricated cases.
In a statement, Dileep recounted his experience at the Cyber Crime Police Station, where he had gone to submit a High Court interim order in an ongoing case.
“Despite the court’s clear directives, I was forcibly taken to the South Zone Task Force office and subjected to hours of questioning,” he said. Following this, he was arrested and taken to Osmania General Hospital for a medical checkup before being presented at the Nampally court.
The social media activist stated that the arrest was part of a larger conspiracy to silence his criticism of the government on social media.
“The police pressured me to sign false statements, which I refused. The government’s failure to handle criticism is evident from its repeated attempts to book me under severe charges,” he said, adding that the court’s intervention resulted in his release.
“After a four-hour argument, the Magistrate ruled against remanding me citing the High Court’s previous order. This is the third time that their conspiracy has failed,” he said.
Dileep expressed concern over fresh attempts to arrest him, claiming the government had now invoked the stringent BNS 111 Organized Crime section, which carries severe penalties, including life imprisonment and even death penalty.
“The real organised crime is by Revanth Reddy and his family who are looting the State. In fact, the entire Congress leadership indulged in organised crime by making 420 false promises, got elected and ignored them immediately thereafter. The public must introspect whether we are in a democracy or a dictatorship,” he asserted.
He pledged to continue exposing the State government’s incompetence and corruption. He also thanked BRS leaders including K Chandrashekhar Rao, KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao and other party members for standing by him during these challenges.
