Revanth Reddy invites Bharti Enterprises to expand AI investments in Telangana
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy urged Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal to establish a larger data centre and AI infrastructure campus in Telangana. Sunil Mittal said the company was considering Hyderabad as Airtel's second headquarters and would expand its operations.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy suggested to the Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal to explore the possibility of establishing a larger, comprehensive data center and AI infrastructure campus in Telangana. He emphasized the need to focus on Airtel’s digital, cloud, cyber security, and AI operations in Hyderabad. The Chief Minister also suggested nominating a senior executive to coordinate and work with the Telangana government on future investment opportunities and issue resolution.
Sunil Bharti Mittal paid a courtesy call on the Chief Minister here on Tuesday. During the meeting, Revanth Reddy suggested launching the Chandanvelli data center project soon. Announcing that the Bharti Enterprises was considering Hyderabad as the second headquarters for Airtel, Sunil Mittal assured that the company would move forward to increase data center capacity and also expand fiber connectivity.
The Chief Minister briefed Sunil Mittal about the reforms introduced in the Telangana government’s education sector, establishment of Young India Skills University to enhance the skills of the unemployed, upgrading ITIs into into ATCs (Advanced Technology Centres) and the development of the polytechnic colleges. Sunil Mittal announced that scholarships would be provided to students studying in government schools and ATCs through the Bharti Foundation.
