Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed the officials to expedite land acquisition for the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) and wanted them to personally supervise and complete the works on a war footing basis.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with Ministers and MLAs from the erstwhile Mahabubnagar at MCRHRD here on Tuesday.
During the meeting, he issued instructions to the officials to complete the land acquisition for other irrigation projects as well in the erstwhile district. The Chief Minister assured that he would ensure immediate payments were made to avoid any delays regarding land acquisition exercise.
The Chief Minister asserted that the government was prepared to clear pending bills related to other projects in the district. He directed the Ministers from the district to regularly review with officials regarding irrigation projects in the erstwhile Palamuru and to continuously monitor the progress.
Last week, the BRS leaders from erstwhile Mahabubnagar had held a meeting at former Minister V Srinivas Goud’s residence. They had announced that a padayatra would be taken up from Narlapur to Uddandapur reservoirs in protest against the delay in completion of the balance PRLIS works.
They had said that their action plan would be announced after discussing their programme with BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao.
