Nirmal: Even as the Congress party’s top leadership is at loggerheads with the BJP, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy reiterated that he would continue meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the sake of the ‘development of Telangana’.
Addressing a public meeting held here after inaugurating multiple developmental projects in Adilabad and Nirmal districts on Friday, Revanth Reddy stated that certain persons were targeting him for meeting Modi. “We are giving due respect to him and requesting him for projects required for the State. Who will sanction projects and funds to Telangana if not Modi? How will the State be developed?” he asked.
The Chief Minister claimed that he had no personal agenda behind calling on the Prime Minister. “I will continue to meet either Narendra Modi or Union Home Minister Amit Shah. One should indulge in politics only during elections,” he said.
Earlier, Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Sadarmat irrigation project in Ponkal village in Mamada mandal and a pump house of the Chanaka-Korata project in Adilabad district. He announced a slew of sops, including an Advanced Training Centre for Nirmal, a special university for Adilabad district and airbuses to Adilabad town soon.
He vowed to construct an irrigation project at Thummidihetti village in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district for irrigating 2 lakh acres. He announced additional funds worth Rs 22 crore for the Nagoba Jatara.
