Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of adopting double standards and questioned why the Congress, particularly the Chief Minister, was uncomfortable with the BRS taking on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led Central government.

“I fail to understand why the Youth Congress obstructed my car when I was extending solidarity to youngsters protesting against the Central government,” Rama Rao said while participating in a BRSV protest against the alleged assault on students in New Delhi.
Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s protest near the Prime Minister’s residence, Rama Rao said the Chief Minister was in Kodangal instead of joining the agitation. Taking a jibe at Revanth Reddy, he said the “Nallamalla cat” chose to remain in Kodangal while Rahul Gandhi led the protest.
He said TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud had at least staged a protest in front of Lok Bhavan, but alleged that the Chief Minister stayed away from Delhi.

Rama Rao said the protesters were demanding accountability from the Prime Minister and action against union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He alleged that Revanth Reddy lacked the courage to join the protest in Delhi alongside Rahul Gandhi.

“Instead, Chota Bhai blames BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao and me for the controversy. While Rahul Gandhi is demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister and Dharmendra Pradhan, Revanth Reddy is only chanting KCR’s name,” he said.

The BRS working president also criticized the Chief Minister for allegedly linking him to the paper leak controversy. He accused Revanth Reddy of attempting to divert the students’ agitation by making baseless allegations.

“BRS is the party that made New Delhi tremble and secured Telangana statehood. If necessary, we will go to Delhi and fight the establishment to stand by the students,” Rama Rao asserted.
