Revanth Reddy urges Hyderabad residents to support Musi Rejuvenation project

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy urged Hyderabad residents to support the Musi Rejuvenation project, assuring them of government assistance and compensation for losses. He also highlighted Telangana’s investments, Bharat Future City, revenue growth and pending employee bills.

Hyderabad: Amid rising objections from residents over the proposed takeover of their properties for the Musi Rejuvenation project, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy once again appealed to them to cooperate with the government in executing the project.

“With a big heart, support the Musi project in transforming our city into a global city. The government will provide all support and cover the losses suffered,” he said at the Independence Day celebrations here on Saturday.

The Chief Minister said Musi rejuvenation was the only solution for the city. If the project was not taken up, Hyderabad would become a less liveable city. Considering these factors, the State government was seeking residents’ support, he said.

The State government had succeeded in creating confidence in Telangana among national and international industrialists and investors. Telangana had emerged as a Top Achiever in the Business Reforms Action Plan across sectors such as business entry, construction permit enablers, the service sector and land administration, he said.

“We have secured investments worth Rs 1.29 lakh crore through TG-iPASS, paving the way for over 78,000 job opportunities. MoUs worth Rs 5.75 lakh crore were signed during the Telangana Rising Global Summit-2025,” Revanth Reddy said, adding that the Telangana Rising Global Summit would be conducted again this year.

The State government was developing Bharat Future City as the country’s first net-zero smart city across 30,000 acres at Maheswaram. It was being built as a world-class hub for AI, data centres, advanced manufacturing, research, innovation and future technologies. All these initiatives would transform the face of Telangana, he stressed.

“I appreciate the people of Ibrahimpatnam and Maheswaram who parted with their lands for Bharat Future City. The government will extend support and offer the best compensation,” Revanth Reddy said.

The Chief Minister sought the support of government employees in increasing State revenue and said officials were key partners in the government’s successes. Their cooperation was crucial in delivering welfare schemes to the last-mile beneficiary, attracting investments and expanding public services, he said.

True to the promise made to employees, the government had released Rs 6,000 crore within 100 days. The remaining pending bills would be cleared in a phased manner, he assured.

“Along with government officials, people’s and nature’s blessings are essential. With all your cooperation, I will make Telangana compete with the world,” Revanth Reddy said.
