WANAPARTHY: Surprising many in the Congress and even in the BJP, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was prepared to support Telangana and address pending issues but Union Minister G Kishan Reddy was creating hurdles.

The issue was not at the Centre but here in Telangana as the Union Minister was blocking development, he said at a public meeting here on Sunday.

Slamming Kishan Reddy for claiming credit for the Mamnoor Airport clearance, he claimed that it was the Congress government that made all efforts to get the approval. Kishan Reddy, on the other hand, had blocked Metro Rail expansion, Musi Riverfront project, water allocation for Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation project and Regional Ring Road projects, he alleged.

“Citing central probe agencies, including the ED, the Union Minister is intimidating us. None will succumb to these pressure tactics and all the mistakes being committed by Kishan Reddy are being listed out,” the Chief Minister said, adding that Kishan Reddy was unable to stomach the fact that despite being younger than him, he had become the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister held the BRS government responsible for the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel collapse. The incident occurred as the works were kept pending by the past government in the last 10 years, he alleged, also accusing the BRS government of facilitating Andhra Pradesh in diverting River Krishna to Rayalaseema.
