RGUKT-Basar releases list of provisionally selected students for 2025-26 academic year
IIIT-Basar released its provisional selection list for the 2025–26 B Tech batch, with 1,690 students chosen for its Basar and Mahbubnagar campuses. Nizamabad topped with 297 selections. Counselling for selected candidates will be held from July 7 to 9.

Nirmal: The Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT), also known as IIIT-Basar, released the list of students provisionally selected for the six-year integrated B Tech programmes for 2025–26 on Friday.
Releasing the list, the Vice-Chancellor Prof Govardhan said 1,690 students were selected for admission into the engineering course at Basar (1,500 seats) and Mahbubnagar (190 seats) campuses for the academic years 2025–31. As per the list, Nizamabad stood at the top with 297 students from the district getting selected, followed by Sangareddy district, which accounted for 222 seats. Prof Jayashankar Bhupalpalli district figured at the bottom as barely one student was selected.
The university officials said that Adilabad and Nirmal districts got 35 and 34 seats respectively. Students from Mancherial district secured 32 seats, while just five pupils from Kumram Bheem Asifabad district got admissions at the university. They said 19,877 applications were received from students. Of them, 19,701 belonged to Telangana, while 176 students were from Andhra Pradesh and other states.
According to the officials, 8,241 applicants studied in government-run schools, while 3,985 applicants passed out from private educational institutions. The varsity saw 318 applicants scoring above 590 marks in the Class X results, while 1,018 applicants achieved more than 580 marks. As many as 2,409 applicants got over 570 marks, while 4,573 applicants registered above 560 marks.
Meanwhile, the first phase of counselling will be held on the campus from July 7 to July 9. Candidates falling between serial numbers 1 and 564 are advised to attend the counselling on July 7, while the shortlisted students from serial numbers 565 to 1,128 are suggested to undergo counselling on July 8. The candidates between serial numbers 1,129 and 1,690 can take part in the process on July 9.
