Nirmal: P Vagdevi, a first-year pre-university course student at Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT) Basar, exhibited an innovative science model at a national-level science exhibition held in Bhopal from November 28 to 23. She was felicitated by RGUKT Vice-Chancellor Prof A Govardhan on Friday.
Govardhan congratulated Vagdevi for securing an opportunity to showcase her science model titled multipurpose crop protector. He told other students to draw inspiration from her and excel in their chosen fields. He said she had brought recognition to the university and Nirmal district.
Vagdevi said the model generates sound to scare monkeys and birds that tend to damage standing crops. A light installed in the protector attracts harmful insects which would drown in a tub. It plays a vital role in protecting crops. It will also reduce the application of fertilisers. It contains a voice recorder, a sensor and a first-aid kit.
