Hyderabad: A 2.7-km length of road from National Highway 65 to Ameenpur is set to be widened soon to ensure hassle-free traffic movement. This stretch serves as an alternative route to ORR Exit No. 4.
The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Department had already sanctioned Rs. 45 crore to complete the road widening project within nine months.
The road widening will be useful for visitors to Ameenpur Lake, which is notable for being the first urban water body in India to be declared a Biodiversity Heritage Site.
The lake is situated within a densely populated area, surrounded by factories, villages, and apartments, making it a unique example of an urban biodiversity site. With its growing popularity, the surrounding area is witnessing rapid development, including the construction of many high-rise buildings.
