Hyderabad: A six feet long rock python was rescued from the Jayashankar Public Park in Bhupalpally on Thursday morning.

The non-venomous snake was spotted by the Forest Department officials late on Wednesday night, who further informed the Eco Club Bhupalpally.

Syed Raheem Pasha, a snake rescuer and one of the members of the club caught the snake and handed it over to the zoo officials.

The snake was released into the forest after inspection by Bhupalpally Range Officer P Renuka on Thursday.

An environmental non-governmental organisation, Eco Club Bhupalpally has been working closely with the Forest Department since it was founded in 2017 by Kalyanapu Suman. The organisation is involved in rescuing wild animals and addressing other environmental concerns as well.
