Rounak Chouhan and Tankara Gnana Dattu advanced to the men’s singles final of the India Junior International Series in Hyderabad, while Shriyanshi, Aikya, and several doubles pairs also clinched semifinal wins

Hyderabad: Top-seeded Rounak Chouhan ended the dream run of unseeded Ansh Negi 21-18, 17-21, 21-14 in the men’s singles semifinal of the India Junior International Series badminton championship at Gopi Chand Academy here on Saturday.

The results (semifinals): Men’s singles: Rounak Chouhan bt Ansh Negi 21-18, 17-21, 21-14; T. Tankara Gnana Dattu bt Dhyan Santosh 21-17, 21-10.


Men’s doubles: Bhavya Chhabra & C. Lalramsanga bt Aman Aneesh & P.V. Aathish Sreenivas 21-16, 19-21, 21-18; G.N. Niranjan Nandakumar & P. Yudhajith Reddy bt K. Vishnu Kedhar & P. Mithileish Krishnan 14-21, 21-17, 21-17.

Women’s singles: V Shriyanshi bt Tanvi Patel 21-17, 21-13; Aikya Shetty bt A. Tanvi Reddy 21-19, 22-24, 21-11.

Women’s doubles: Deepak Raj Aditi & Ponnamma B.V. Vriddhi bt Ananya Arun & Anjana Manikandan 21-13, 20-22, 21-16; M. Keerthy & Varna Prabu Anand bt Lalrempuii & Zenith Abbigail 21-15, 21-14.

Mixed doubles: Mithileish P. Krishnan & Varma Prabu Anand bt Md Karamat Ul Haq Mohammed & Deepika Devanaboina 21-15, 21-16; Vansh Dev & Shravani Walekar bt Rishav Ngangom & Gunjan Devi Konsam 21-15, 21-12.
