Hydeabad: Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, has commenced first-of-its-kind certificate programme for ‘Policing in Peace-Keeping Operations’ for CAPF officers on Monday.

The RRU has established a Centre for UN Policing and Peacekeeping Studies (CUNPPKS) as a Centre for Excellence which Centre embarked upon its maiden week-long “Certificate Programme for Policing in Peace-Keeping Operations” mainly focusing on training officers earmarked for UN Service in Formed Police Units (FPUs) with Col Deepak Joshi, Director, School of Internal Security, Defense and Strategic Studies, as its chief instructor.

As a part of its mandate to conduct executive education programmes for CAPF, military and police personnel, RRU endeavours to collaborate with other organisations who form part of India’s security architecture. Aiming at greater inter-organisational cohesion, the course intends to familiarize the officers with the experience of their counterparts in other sister services participating with them and engaged as instructors, a press release said.

After a break due to Covid-19, RRU has once again embarked upon on-campus programmes with all norms being followed and the inaugural ceremony for the same was held in the presence of Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, the Registrar, Pavan Soni, and other Heads of Department.
