Security has been intensified across Bihar ahead of the second phase of assembly elections on November 11, with over 4 lakh personnel, including CAPF, Bihar Police, and home guards, deployed to ensure peaceful polling across 122 constituencies and 45,399 polling stations
BRS MPs KR Suresh Reddy and Divakonda Damodar Rao have lodged complaints with the Election Commission of India, accusing the Congress government of violating the Model Code of Conduct ahead of the Jubilee Hills bypoll. They demanded CAPF supervision and live-streaming of polling to ensure fairness, citing misuse of official machinery and biased policing.
CISF trooper identified as Constable Manish Verma sustained an accidental firearm injury in the wee hours of Friday in Jhalass Government Higher Secondary School in Haveli area of Poonch district.
The number of rounds for counting varies, with a maximum of 24 rounds in Choppadandi, Yakutpura, and Devarakonda Assembly segments, and a minimum of 13 rounds in Armoor, Bhadrachalam, and Aswaraopet constituencies.
Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, K Sreenivasa Reddy, addressing media persons on Monday said that a total of 14,000 personnel including Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be deployed in the city during the polling.
The officers were apprised of the unfortunate injuries of students as well as security personnel, police said adding that the forces discussed using minimum force in dealing with the public, especially students.
The course intends to familiarize the officers with the experience of their counterparts in other sister services participating with them and engaged as instructors.
"It is extremely unfortunate that political battles are thus sought to be fought in this manner instead of being fought in the campaign trail," the EC observed.
